Boost Team Work Effectiveness with Profile and Assessment Tools: Atlanta Leadership Development and Beyond

lapdog, inc. offers psychometric profiles, assessments, and screening tools designed to help you, understand and develop your team in order to boost team work effectiveness and hire the right person for the job. Assessments and profiles can be utilized independently or as a tool to maximize the effectiveness of any of our programs.

Assessment Tools

An assessment can be anything that is assessed or observed, and is often used to look at traits of an organization or team. lapdog commonly utilizes two types of assessment tools:

Team Effectiveness Questionnaire (TEQ)

Developed by Dr. Matt Starcevich, the TEQ utilizes 50 true/false questions in five areas of team effectiveness to assess your team’s strengths and weaknesses. The results of an assessment tell us about the current climate in a team environment which will guide us in the development of your program.

Team direction, leadership, atmosphere, structure/resources, and processes are assessed before a team building or team development initiative, as part of the actual initiative, or as a follow-up assessment of progress. While the TEQ can be helpful in and of itself, it is most useful when it precedes facilitated sessions. The TEQ is available on-line or in paper format.

DiSC®

Used by over 50 million people to improve interpersonal relationships, productivity, team work effectiveness, and communication, DiSC® is the original personal assessment and is considered to be the most validated and reliable. Based on the 1928 work of psychologist William Moulton Marston, the DISC Personal Profile System uses a four dimensional model to examine the behavior of individuals in their environment or within a specific situation by testing a person's preferences in word associations.

The DiSC Classic Profile helps employees:
  • Understand their habits and behavioral tendencies
  • Foster teamwork and minimize conflict to boost team work effectiveness
  • Ease frustrations and deal with interpersonal conflict effectively
  • Discover behavioral strengths and value the strengths of others
  • Improve communication skills by determining communication styles

Profile Tools

Defined as a description of behavioral and personality traits of a person compared with accepted norms or standards, a psychometric profile is often used to:
  • Choose the best selection and/or development tool
  • Objectively validate recruiting, screening and selection systems
  • Build a self-managed and high performing culture
  • Develop a succession plan
  • Facilitate an effective organizational change process
  • Integrate a corporate culture after a merger or acquisition
