Team Development with Hillside Hospital
Wednesday April 09, 2008
lapdog, inc. celebrates with Hillside Hospital, Atlanta's oldest organized charity, with a day focusing on team development.
The participants of this program are part of the residential program at Hillside Hospital and are ages 12 to 17 years old. This program was successful at helping these teenagers develop cognitive thinking and problem solving skills.
After experiencing team activities focused on team development and problem solving, each student had the opportunity to experience lapdog's climbing tower and giant swing. The Climbing Tower was great at helping individuals set goals and overcome their perceived limits. Students from Hillside Hospital set goals on how high they wanted to climb and the facilitators helped the students exceed their goals. On the Giant Swing participants are pulled up by their team and the student decided how high they want to go. The Giant Swing reinforced the idea of trust in their counselors and team mates; all while having fun!
At the close of the day the students were encouraged and excited about moving forward with their growth and development.
